Regulatory environment and service provision

This dimension is about the availability of a supportive political climate and regulatory environment. It also includes the availability of rural services; extension services and other support services. To what extent is the political and regulatory environment supportive to the practice? Is the practice appropriate and does it fit into the existing environment? Issues of concern are for instance: the political environment; regulation; market access; taxes; the financial context; credit provision; reasonable pricing; effective extension support; facilitating marketing…[1])? Does the government enable a positive environment? – A high score on this dimension means that the regulatory environment is supportive towards the practice and that rural services are appropriate and in place.
