This brief document is one chapter from the more comprehensive No-Till Farming for Sustainable Rural Development, published simultaneously by the World Bank. It is intended as a 'how to' guide for project managers, researchers, extension agents, farmer groups, and others who seek a starting point to begin the transition to no-till farming in their communities. As more farmers make the transition to no-till farming in diverse ecosystems, under different climatic conditions, under various socioeconomic structures, within a range of marketing optionIs, and under various types of government structures, the body of knowledge about how to successfully navigate the transition from conventional tillage to no-till farming will expand. Future editions of this guide will include such experience.
